Who We Are
Kiser Ridge Farm is a working family farm in East Tennessee, where kids run barefoot, livestock test fences daily, and chaos is just part of the routine.
If you’re curious how we got here – the long road before the goats, fences, and the farm feral chaos – the farm came later. The story started long ago. Meet the farmers that started the chaos.
We raise kids, cows, chickens, and one particularly notorious goat – meet our farm animals here.
We’re not a picture-perfect farmhouse operation, and we’re not trying to be. This is real farm life as it actually happens — loud mornings, muddy boots, broken gates, hard lessons, and a lot of laughter in between. We raise kids alongside livestock, learn most things the hard way, and find humor in the mess.
If you’re looking for curated perfection, this probably isn’t it. If you’re looking for honesty, you’re in the right place.
What “Farm-Feral” Means Here
Being farm-feral isn’t a trend. It’s a lifestyle.
Around here, it means kids who learn responsibility by feeding animals, fixing fences, and understanding consequences early. It means livestock that don’t read the rulebook and parents who are constantly adapting. It means dirt under fingernails, stories worth telling, and a deep respect for the land and the animals that live on it.
Farm-feral life is messy, loud, occasionally frustrating — and absolutely worth it.
If you are curious what farm-feral life actually looks like day to day, you’ll find those stories throughout our Farm-Feral Life Posts.

Our Animals (and the Ones in Charge)
Our farm animals are part of the family, each with their own personality and opinions.
We raise cattle who keep a close eye on everything, a single goat named Floyd the Felon who believes fences are suggestions, and livestock guardian dogs Jam and Blue, whose job is protecting the farm (and supervising everyone else).
Every animal plays a role here, whether that role is work, protection, or keeping us humble. You can meet them all in our Meet Our Farm Animals post.
Why We Share This Life
We share life at Kiser Ridge Farm because real farm life isn’t often shown honestly.
This space is for the funny parts, the frustrating parts, and the lessons learned the hard way. From rural parenting and livestock mishaps to Appalachian culture, sarcasm, and farm humor — this is an unfiltered look at what it’s like to raise humans alongside animals.
Some days are loud. Some days are messy. Most days are both. But it’s worth it.
We often get asked what tools and gear we actually use around the farm – we’ve gathered those on our Farm Favorites Page.
Welcome to the Farm
