Life at Kiser Ridge Farm

Welcome to Kiser Ridge Farm — home to our farm animals in East Tennessee, where the animals are loud, the fences are suggestions, and the chaos is daily. From our cows to our goats, every creature here has a personality (and an attitude) of its own.
We are a working family farm in East Tennessee – if you are new here, you can read more about our farm story here.
🐄 The Cows: Gentle Giants with Opinions

We currently have eight cows — each with their own mood and mission in life. They spend their days grazing in the pastures overlooking the Appalachian foothills, chewing cud, staring into space, judging humans and other farm animals, and occasionally deciding a fence line just looks wrong and needs testing.
They’re the calmest creatures on the farm — until it’s feeding time, then they sound like a marching band made of moos.
🐐 Floyd the Felon

Ah yes… Floyd.
The legend. The escape artist. The goat who has single-hoofedly earned himself a reputation with the county.
Floyd is a master of finding the one weak spot in a fence you thought was perfect. He’s equal parts charm and chaos — and somehow always looks innocent while standing on top of whatever he just destroyed.
If there’s trouble on the farm, odds are good Floyd started it… or at least supervised.
Floyd is proof that curiosity and mischief come in the same package.
Floyd wanted to tell his life story, so he insisted we write it for him.
Floyd The Felon : How One Goat Earned His Reputation
🐕 Livestock Guardians: Jam & Blue

Meet Jam and Blue, our Great Pyrenees livestock guardians. Jam (the girl) runs the farm with a bossy streak and an eye for trouble. She believes she’s in charge of the goats, the cows, the chickens, and probably us too. She is definitely a partner in crime to Floyd the Felon, or maybe she turned him in; She’s still pleading the 5th.
Blue, her partner in protection (and naps), is a gentle giant who patrols at night and snores through most of the day. Together, they keep coyotes, stray dogs, and delivery drivers at a respectful distance.
Jam might occasionally nap through an escape attempt — which is how Floyd once earned his “Felon” title — but she always redeems herself when it really counts.
🐓 The Chickens (Background Chaos Crew)

They don’t get much credit, but our chickens are the soundtrack of the farm — clucking, gossiping, and laying eggs wherever they please except the nesting boxes.
They’re also Floyd’s biggest fans (or maybe victims, depending on the day).
🐾 Sushi the House Kitten

And then there’s Sushi, the kitten who technically lives on the farm but has firmly chosen the indoor-only lifestyle. She’s small, soft, and absolutely convinced that she runs the place. While the rest of the animals deal with weather, mud, and fences, Sushi supervises from the couch, bats at shoelaces, and reminds us that not everyone on a working farm has to work that hard. She may not test fences or guard livestock, but she keeps the house entertained — and somehow still manages to be involved in everything.
💚 The Heart of It All

Life on Kiser Ridge Farm is equal parts mud, noise, and magic. Every animal plays a role — even if that role is “comic relief.” Around here, perfection isn’t the goal. Real, raw, rural life is.
Because at the end of the day, this chaos is exactly what makes it home.
